Product Review : Sleek 'Blush by 3' Blush Palettes in PINK SPRINT & PUMPKIN

Hey Pretties,

You would agree with me that sleek has evolved over the years,Amazingly so! Now, these blush palettes remind me of NARS Blushes which i have never used *sadly*

So i walked into the Sleek studio 2 days ago to get one of my favourite lipglosses and i sighted the blush palettes. Fortunately, i love colors,so i decided to purchase the 2 palettes in the review.

I used both blush palettes on a bride yesterday and the pigmentation was AMAZINGGGGGG. A tap or 2 of your brush does an amazing job at adding warmth to any skin tone.

PINK SPRINT

is a palette that i believe flatters every complexion , but i got it for the very dark ladies most especially. The palette which i dubbed 'PLUMS' are what i believe would come through on the skins of the 'Wande Coal'(s) & 'Alex Wek'(s) of this world *no pun intended*

PUMPKIN

is a palette which i believe suits medium to light complexions in adding a degree of warmth & color as opposed to Pink Sprint which adds MORE of color to light complexions as opposed to warmth.

What I Love About Them :

- The Color Choices in the Palettes
- The Mirror which is as wide and long as the palette, makes it good enough to be carried for quick touch-ups
- The width & comfort while holding it
- The cost (=N=2000) for 3 'pigmented' blushes, is a good deal
- If you're into depotting, there's no need to do that with this palette as they don't occupy much space & are easy to carry about even in a wallet, compared to carrying 3 different blush pans

Verdict

- If you're new to makeup and are confused about the shades of blushes to buy, these palettes are a MUST as Sleek has done all the thinking for you.

- If you're a makeup artist, the blush colors were chosen from a great understanding of the Color Wheel (A study of the Florist's color wheel is great proof)

Hopefully, this post has been helpful

Keeping Up Appearances!!

Hey Pretties,

this post title is exactly what i've been doing. Since 'Nike's passing,i haven't been able to think straight because it's still hard to believe she isn't a phone call away.

The same can be said about all those who related closely with her, family & friends alike. I completely lost interest in blogging because there was nothing to be excited about. A few days ago,i gave myself a reality jolt because she would in no way support the morose attitude.

Haba! Do i want God to vex for me? < ---- That's exactly what she would say. Adenike, me i miss you oo & can never forget you. You remain dear to me, my journey as a makeup artist isn't complete without talking about how wonderful a friend you were.

Shine On Adenike!!!

You Live In My Heart - Adenike Ogungbe!

Hmmmmmm!

Wednesday July 3rd,2013 is so far the saddest day of my life.A priceless jewel in the Nigerian Makeup Industry went to be with the Lord. Adenike Ogungbe (Head Makeup Artist at Ewar Makeovers) :  Kind-hearted, Loving, Funny, Blunt, Talented, Savvy, Polished, God-fearing, Persistent, Motivated, Genuine - these are just a few words to describe my dear friend, sister and confidante .

Doing her thing while people watched & learnt
Though we were colleagues in the industry, she inspired me and always made sure I got the recognition she felt my art deserved. We learnt so much together, our hang-outs, lunch dates and photo sessions are most cherished.

I owe the pictures in the banner head of my blog to her because she captured all of them superbly & i'll cherish them forever.

Full of wisdom beyond her years,Adenike was a fighter, dogged and would not settle for less. Oh death, where is thy sting?

You taught with Passion

It's hard to talk about you in 2nd Person. When we spoke, it was refreshing. If i sounded funny / upset about something, you made sure you got to the root of the matter. If there was a business venture, you made sure i knew about it & joined if i was interested. You taught me how to save - Do Ajo ; Make a 'Kolo' , you helped me perfect my gele tying when i struggled with it - I still can't tie like you.

You referred me to clients as often as possible, you did your things judicilously. You were a wonderful boss to your staff, noone was beneath you. We would talk about You-tube gurus, rave about the newest mac lipsticks you acquired. Compare notes with makeup products, skin types.

Your 1st & Only You-tube Video was a hit, despite the rubbish commenters on Bella Naija!

A few days ago, you asked me to buy you a certain blemish cream i used. I've gotten it for you Adenike, how do i get it across to you??? oh My God!!!!!!!!!!

I hope we all can do a good job of telling your daughter how remarkable a woman her mother is / was. You were a Role Model. You had great plans for your daughter, some that noone knew.

I miss you darling and if there was a thing as another life, I would choose you again to be my friend and sister.

I Saved All Your Pictures When You Still Used a Blackberry

I Still remain Your Greatest Fan With A Bruised Heart!!!

Rock Chic Humid She!

Hey Pretties,

i would like to introduce my Muse,Mabel. Though she hasn't come to terms with the fact that she's got the most amazing facial features any artist would love.

Mabs, your before was needed to drive home a point. That you are beautiful!!!

So i decided to do a number on her. I admit that green is one of the scary & hardly used colors in my kit because if not properly blended, you could have a hot mess about you.

All Eyeshadows are by MAC Cosmetics
It's amazing what a bit of sculpting here and highlighting there could do for any face, but you need to understand what intensity goes where. That's a topic for another discussion.

For the face, i used :

- Good old Marykay Liquid Foundation in 600 & 607; MAC Studio Finish Concealer NW45 mixed with Milani's Pot Concealer in Honey 03 ; Iman Powder in Medium & Light Medium; Black Opal Blush in Wild Orchid .

Lashes are Red Cherry 110
Lips - Zaron lippencil in Cappuccino
MAC Lipsstick in Myth ; MAC lipglass in Viva Glam

Lips - Jordana lippencil in PlumMAC lipstick in Viva Glam Nicki 2 ; Clear gloss

Lips - Jordana lip pencil in Plush Red   BM Pro Long Lasting Lipgloss in REDD

I don't know which look i loved the best, but she carried all so well, she could have been mistaken for a Rock Star.

Do you have amazing skin? Are you confident you have the best features?Would you like to sit in my chair? Please send me an email : sitpretty412@yahoo.com with pictures of yourself as well as what you do.

xoxo

New Business Venture : Sit Pretty Beauty

Hey Pretties,

so i have some good news to share and i believe i can count on you all to run with the vision.

For a long time coming, my love for quality makeup has known no end as i have purchased, hoarded, coveted and eyed many makeup brands all over the world.

Then, i started my business and my passion for makeup and exploring all opportunities grew. I started buying makeup way back in Tejuoso(from Alhaja's shop and other petty traders), some i didn't know how to use but bought ; some were the wrong shade ; some were expired and some were ..... you guessed right - FAKE.

Thankfully, the internet helped me discern between all that was out there and with regular bloggers like Stella Ikelionwu of Stella's Addiction , i knew i was on the right path, albeit on a more quieter level.

So with the advise of close friends and family, i decided to give makeup retailing a shot & SIT PRETTY BEAUTY was formed.

What's so special?? I heard you ask. NOTHING except for the fact that the person behind the brand loves the makeup industry and would like to share knowledge about her craft and then.... make money doing it *wink*. Great thing is that i plan to review most of the products to give all consumers an idea of what they would be purchasing as well as how to get the best of their purchases

Products to be sold :

- Lash Glue
- Lashes
- Foundations
- Eyeshadows
- Lipsticks
- Lipglosses
- Eyeliners
- Powders
- Eyeshadow Primers
- Face Primers
- Makeup Brushes
- Makeup DVDs
- Makeup Books
- Brush holders & belts
and so much more

Over time, i'll update you on available stock & how you can get them

I'm excited, trust i made you equally excited

I'm a Duchess Walking on the Red Carpet : A Pibona Review

Hey Pretties,

As part of my promise to my readers, i ensure i do looks with products i purchase , sell or review. And this has been long ignored.

In my Pibona haul are 4 Fantastic Products and so for this look,i used :

 - Pibona Trio Mineral Eyeshadow in Duchess

- Pibona Matte Lipstick in Red Carpet (A Red Matte Lipstick that applies smoothly and has moisturizing properties)

- Pibona Luxury Lipgloss in Vivid Dream (A Pink Bubblegum-colored pigmented lipgloss that smells yummy)

- Pibona Luxury Lipgloss in Skinny Dip (A Champagne-colored lipgloss)

What I Think About Pibona :

- The Packaging is sleek, black in colour and the products come in velvet pouches which i think make good keepsakes for those pricey earrings you own.
- The Eyeshadows are a bit hard to get the colour off, but i found that with a firm and previously moistened brush, you get to pick up the shadows better and they apply and blend beautifully.
- The lipglosses smell yummy and the quantity is a good bargain
- It's a brand to look out for on the Nigerian scene

You can get these products on JUMIA. Now that you know how they look, happy shopping.

Thanks PIBONA once again for the addition to my kit.
